Bio

Melissa Llewellyn has been a residential designer for over 15 years in the Acadiana area, bringing new, fresh space concepts to the architectural market with her firm, LINES made simple.

She was born and raised in the upper part of Lafayette Parish and attended the Louisiana School in Natchitoches for high school before returning to Lafayette to obtain a design degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She lives in the downtown Lafayette area with her family and regularly attends (and enjoys) the705 functions. She has held seats on boards and committees and is no stranger to helping the community. Being actively involved in that said community is Melissa’s passion, from being an Ambassador for One Acadiana or attending Lafayette Consolidated Government and Lafayette Parish School Board Meetings. She lives and works in the community that she cares about and loves to ride her bike to and from work, the gym, and ULL football/basketball/baseball functions. Supporting this community and the people in it has been one of Melissa’s priorities since moving back to the area after a brief period in another country.

Melissa’s hobbies include reading, sleeping, and frequent vacationing around the globe. ULL football and supporting our team is a great love of hers as well.

Personal Statement

I have been a member of the705 for a couple of years now and am highly involved with all of its activities. This past year, I joined the membership committee so I could meet all of our members and greet everyone personally (alongside the other committee members, of course). I also sat on the programming committee because organization and planning are two things that I am passionate about and do well with. I am usually seen at the Lunch and Learns and Coffee Withs every month. I would like to be elected as a board member with the705 so that I can better serve my fellow colleagues/friends and continue the tradition of making our organization the best that it can be.
