Mr. Bill Rodier has served as the Director and CEO of the St. Landry Parish Economic Development Group (SLED) since May 2013. He is responsible for the visioning, alignment, and the strategic efforts of four area economic development boards incorporating 46 active members. Collectively, they implement collaborative community, economic, and area transformational development initiatives. The SLED Group is widely recognized as leaders of positive, innovative, and transformational change for the future of St Landry and upper Acadiana.
Previously, he served as the Statewide Director of Business Services for the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) and held major project recruitment roles with Louisiana Economic Development (LED). His background also includes executive management of a Gulf Coast real estate development firm and overseeing operations for a major Gulf Coast automotive group. He also spent enlistment two tours in the Air Force managing daily operations within an Elite Guard Unit serving dignitaries from throughout the world.
He currently provides leadership in multiple regional boards, committees, and steering teams that are focused on visioning and strategy implementation leading to progressive growth. He is a long-time mentor with the 705, as well as a mentor for various student organizations across the region. He is also an active leader in education and veteran advocacy support.
Bill has a master’s degree in International Business, a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, and an associate degree in Security Technologies. He is also a graduate from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional, a graduate of Leadership Louisiana, and is in ongoing coursework at the Harvard, Kennedy School of Business.
Personally, Bill regularly competes in motorcycle road racings events, and has spent many years competing nationally in Iron Man, and Xterra long distance Triathlon Events. In 2018 he was honored by Iron Man for reaching their exclusive All World Athlete category. Bill is also a Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
