People in Acadiana and all over the world partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Volunteers are the heart of Lafayette Habitat for Humanity. Whether you’re swinging a hammer for the first time as you help build a house, or helping sort through donations at the ReStore, your efforts make the dream of homeownership possible. No construction experience is necessary and we provide all tools and training necessary.
All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. If any volunteers are under the age of 18, they are required to have a parent sign a liability waiver. Additionally, ALL volunteers regardless of age must create an account and register to volunteer using this link: https://cerv.is/0137gTspfvs
