OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM IS A STEPPING STONE TO BECOMING ACADIANA’S NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS.
The705 Mentor Program is the most successful program of its kind in Acadiana. The program provides both mentors and protégés with a mutually rewarding experience. The program is designed to provide 705 members with direct and exclusive access to local mentors in our community. Mentors should be leaders that want to assist in the development of others and will be selected from our Lafayette community from a variety of disciplines.
Provide members with an opportunity to work with and develop relationships, personal and professional, with the established leaders in the Acadiana community. The result will be a development pipeline for the next generation of leaders.
ROLE OF MENTOR
Mentors will be asked to commit to 4 personal meetings (breakfast/lunch) over the course of a year with their protégés. They are welcome to have more meetings, but we request a minimum commitment of 4. Each mentor will be assigned up to 2 members and 1 board member. There will also be two mentor/protégé social events hosted by the 705 to encourage casual conversation amongst community leaders and 705 members.
705 members that are current with their dues will be allowed to participate in the mentor program through an application process in January. Mentors will be matched with protégés by the Professional Development Committee. Board Members will be responsible for communication and meeting planning with the mentor. The Professional Development Committee along with the President will assign applicants to the Mentors.
To participate in the program, we ask each member for a $60 registration fee to offset program costs. Each 705 member and board member will be required to cover the cost of their own food and drink during the meetings.
